Animatronic Argentinosaurus Model

A sauropod changes the scale of everything around it. An Argentinosaurus stands with its neck up and its head above the treeline of a park, and the effect is not the animal itself but the way people stop and look up. This model is built for that: a long neck carried high, a heavy body, and the frame underneath sized to stand outdoors indefinitely.

The model is built to a stated overall size with the neck profile and the body proportioned against that size, and it is supplied for park installation, museum display and mall placement, in a moving or a static version. Delivery is planned as an installation project because of the crane access and the base works.

The Neck Is the Whole Build

The neck is long, heavy and carried high, with the head lifted and the body running back to a long tail. Getting the neck to read as structure rather than as a tube means the musculature and the skin folds are modelled along its length, and the transition into the shoulders is built rather than blended.

A sauropod of this size is a serious piece of engineering. The internal frame carries the neck’s weight back into the body and down into the base, and the skin is stretched over a structure that has to hold the shape for years without sagging or creasing. The model is assembled in sections because a single piece would not be transportable.

Specified for Outdoor Life

Hot-dip galvanised steel frame, anti-UV composite silicone skin over an elastic fibre mesh, and servo drives rated to IP65. Colour is applied in multiple gradient layers under a UV topcoat — on an animal of this length, an even fade is what keeps it looking like one creature rather than a patchwork.

The unit arrives in bolted modules and assembles on site without welding, with a concrete foundation and anchor bolts for permanent outdoor work. Our technician joins the first run so the neck movement, the head, the breathing and the tail are set against the actual site.

An Anchor for the Landscape

Theme park centrepieces, museum grounds, dinosaur trails, mall atriums and public squares. A sauropod is usually the animal that sets the scale for everything else on the site, and it is often placed at a distance so the neck reads against the sky. It is a landmark, a photo point and the animal that visitors describe to other visitors.

Questions Before Ordering

What sizes can be built? Anything from 1 m to 30 m long and up to 15 m tall. The size is set by the site, the sight lines and the transport route, not by a fixed catalogue.

How is it triggered? Four ways: infrared or radar sensing, a pre-programmed sequence set before dispatch, handheld remote, or voice interaction. Most sites run the sensor as the default and keep the remote for staff.

What does it need on site? A 110 V or 220 V supply and a solid fixing point. The unit arrives in modules and bolts together — no on-site welding.

Can it run outdoors? Yes. The standard specification is an outdoor one, with anti-UV silicone skin, a water-resistant servo drive rated to IP65, and a hot-dip galvanised frame that tolerates salt spray.

How is it fixed? Four options: concrete foundation with pre-embedded anchor bolts, a weighted base that can be moved as one piece, expansion bolts on a hard indoor floor, or a sealed and buoyancy-rated base for water features.

How long does production take? Custom builds run on a lead time confirmed against the drawing. Send the requirement and the site plan, and the proposal comes back with the timing and the drawings marked up.

Materials. National-standard steel frame, first-tier servo motors, high-density foam core, composite silicone skin over elastic fibre mesh, hand-sprayed colour finish.

Delivery and Installation

The model ships in bolted modules on a reinforced timber crate, with frame sections, skin panels, neck sections and hardware packed and labelled for assembly. Sections bolt together on site; no on-site welding is required.

A model this size needs crane access, and the delivery plan is built around it — the route, the lifting point and the base works are confirmed before shipment rather than on the day. Our technician joins the first run so the neck and head movement are set against the site.

The base is fixed to a concrete foundation with anchor bolts for permanent outdoor work, or to a weighted base where the animal needs to move. For water features, a sealed and buoyancy-rated base is used instead.
