A 3.5 m Coelophysis standing on a gravel trail pad, turning its head on silent servos. No crest, horn or armour — the hand-painted back striping is the only pattern to hold the eye.
This is the 3.5 m build at 1.3 m to the hip, which puts the head close to adult eye level and makes the motion read differently from a large theropod. The clip shows the idle rather than the walk on purpose: between visitors the animal should stand almost still with the head turning a few degrees at a time, so that the speed registers as a change when someone walks up to it.
The stance is what a light animal lives or dies on. It is anchored on a galvanised footprint frame set into a gravel bed, with the control cabinet standing behind the nearest trunk. A 1.3-metre animal is light enough that wind is a real load, so the anchor layout is sized for it and the position should never be an unsheltered ridge.
Coelophysis has no crest, no horn and no armour, so there is nothing to hide a bad paint job behind — the striping on the back and tail is hand-painted per animal. The skin is the same silicone finish used across the range (patent ZL 2022 1 0224489.5), and under plain daylight it stays matte.
